Carcar Water District celebrated its 43rd founding anniversary on May 26, 2023, at the Mother Mary’s Children School in Dapdap, Poblacion III, Carcar, City.

The entire workforce of the water utility, led by General Manager, Atty Edward L. Remo attended the celebration. The members of the Board, headed by Dr. Merlea A. Cabalquinto was also present during the program, which started at around 7 PM. 

Hon. Mario Patricio P. Barcenas, the city mayor, graced the occasion with his presence, together with Hon. Hervy Alejandro B. De Dios, city councilor, and Mr. Richmond Lagrito, the manager of Landbank-Carcar.

The evening was highlighted by the grand entrance of all personnel, followed by the presentation of the prelude video and the exhibition of talents from select employees of the water district.

In her closing message, Dir. Consolacion Fernandez of the Civic Sector openly avowed her confidence that the water district is on the right track toward its goals and is very much prepared to become a Utility of the Future, as espoused by the World Bank.

CWD was formed in May 1980 under the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 198. It has been operating as a Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation and is present in all of the fifteen barangays in Carcar City, serving more than 25,000 concessionaires and covering at least 84% of the City’s total population.
